8 months
Dear Gideon,
Happy 8 months! You are still as happy as can be and this month, right before you turned 8 months, you started CRAWLING! Yay! You are so happy to be able to get around in the way that you like. Juliet took awhile to crawl from room to room, but you started crawling on a Wednesday and then started crawling from room to room on that Saturday. The next Monday (Christmas Eve) we left to go see Daddy's family for Christmas. It was so fun that you could crawl around and enjoy their house.
You traveled really well on the way there and back. We had no drama (thank goodness!) and you loved seeing everyone there and you even tried some new foods: puffs, yogurt melts, and different baby food mixes. Your favorite continues to be carrot and rice cereal. But, you will eat lots of different kinds of vegetables and even some fruits. You still don't like bananas and you didn't love the apple cherry blend that we gave you, but you tolerated it.
At your grandparent's house it was extremely hard for you to get enough sleep. Because of the two hour time difference you had a really rough time adjusting. We would put you to bed later in hopes that you and your sister would sleep in a little (even until 5 am), but you both were up at either 3:30 or 4:00 am every day we were there. It was very rough considering no one else in the house would wake up for at least 2 or 3 more hours. We took you around to see Christmas lights a couple of times and up to see the temple by their house.
It was your first Christmas and you did really well with all of the chaos and new faces. You are such a calm baby that I feel so lucky to have your sweet spirit in our family to bring balance to us (but me especially). We gave your grandparents a special gift: Gideon's 123s, a book that has a bunch of pictures of you in it. It was fun to make and reflect on how much you have grown the past few months.
You have two bottom teeth and you have acted like you are teething for awhile but we don't see any traces of top teeth coming in. I can't wait for you to be able to eat real food and chew it! It is the best feeling and I know you will love it.
You still nurse one time during the night. I am hoping to be able to wean you around 9 months and then you would only be nursing 5 times a day. You also eat three meals of solid food in a day. You wear size 4 diapers and size 12 month clothing. You have cute little gray shoes that you wear a lot
We love you so much and are grateful to have you. I can't believe that you are already 2/3 of a year old! I'll blink again and you will be a year old. We just have to survive the winter together. Haha.
Love,
Mom
