Dear Gideon,
I’ve been gone most of this week for work. I’m on my way home tonight. I got you some clothes and pajamas at Walmart, on a big discount. Still though, having some brand new clothes may be nice for you.

Mom told me that you did pretty well most of the week, but yesterday you did start to have a small fever. That has happened to you often lately, and Mom and I have wondered if you’ve been getting little illnesses, or if you get overheated with how hot it is outside, or if you just have an unusually high temperature.

You are becoming more alert during the day.

I’m glad I get to see you again soon. I am in the airport right now, on my way back to you and Mom and Juliet.

In church today there was a talk that I enjoyed. The subject was understanding why bad things happen to good people. I have been thinking about that because of a verse I read a couple weeks ago in Proverbs: “There shall no evil happen to the just” - 12:21. When we are righteous, it is true that “all things... work together for [our] good.” Even if they are painful, all things that happen to the just can help us prepare for the celestial kingdom, and also they may even help and bless us sooner than that.

I will probably sleep on the airplane. I’m quite tired, and I want to have the energy to help out at home tomorrow.

Love,
Dad
