3 months
My dear Gideon,
Happy 3 months! We have been on so many adventures this last month. We went on our first big family vacation to Grandma and Grandpa's house. It took us two airplane rides there and we stayed for a week and a half. You went shopping, hiking, playing at the park, to the splash pad. You were held by everyone that was there and you were such a good sport about it. On our last few days there you were pretty tired of vacation and you started in on a sleep regression that you are still in the middle of (It has been about a week and a half).
You started grabbing things at Grandma and Grandpa's house and you have started loving to play. Your favorite toy is the O-ball and you love grabbing it and pulling it up to your mouth. Dad pulled out the exersaucer and you have LOVED playing in it and experiencing new toys and the sensation of standing.
You got sick while we were on vacation. There was a cold bug going around and it was sad to see you be so congested. You still are congested, but hopefully that will subside soon.
You have started trying to roll over. You pull your legs up toward your face while lying on your back and sometimes manage to get onto your side, but you haven't made it yet. We can tell you really want to though. You haven't started turning over when we put you on your tummy, though you have really enjoyed tummy time and are getting really good at holding your head up.
You still eat very often during the day (about every 2 hours) though you have started to sometimes go 2 and a half hours between feedings. You still eat quickly and efficiently, so it is not usually a problem. It has been hard sometimes with outings trying to time it so you are not losing your mind before we get back so I can feed you. Juliet is pretty patient while I feed you and has some phone time where she watches little kid music videos.
You are in size 6 month clothes and they fit you pretty well. You are in size 2 diapers, but you have been having blow outs almost every day, so I am thinking we need to move you up a size in diapers.
You have started not wanting to use the pacifier as much to soothe yourself. You usually use it just before you go to sleep for naps and bed, but not while you are awake, which you used to want it all the time.
Like I mentioned before, sleeping has been erratic for you. You take short naps and you wake up at least 5 times during the night. It has been hard, but I am hoping you will go back to waking up only twice a night to eat and maybe only once! But we keep dealing in survival mode in hopes that you understand that your mind can relax enough to sleep. You don't love sleeping in your car seat as much as you used to. It bothers you to wake up in your car seat when you want to be playing.
You have started smiling pretty big for Juliet and Dad and it is fun to see you develop relationships with both of them. Juliet has always been interested in you and it is fun to see you smiling at her and wanting to be near her. She has so much love for you.
You have loved when we give you baths. You probably wish we could give you a bath every day, but mommy is too tired for that, so we do once a week. haha. You never cry when you get cold, but you love the feeling of being in the water. We went swimming as a family and I dipped your toes in the pool and you loved it.
Overall, you are a very sweet, even-tempered baby. We are so happy to get to know you better and watch you grow. We love having you be in our family!
Love,
Mom
